In August of 2017, Ryan was appointed by Councilman Mark Clayton as the District 9 representative to the South Dallas Fair Park Opportunity Fund Advisory Board.
The Fund’s mission is to facilitate economic and community development in the South Dallas and Fair Park community by offering loans to businesses that expand or relocate in the trust fund service area around historic Fair Park as well as grants to nonprofit organizations that provide a community benefit to the area.
The fund’s service area includes Census tracts 25, 27.01, 27.02, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39.01, 39.02 and 40 (link to map of service area below).
